Windows of Opportunity: Information for Parents College admissions are more competitive now than ever before…
Universities expect students to not only have stellar GPAs, and high
SAT scores, but also to display creative and athletic talents, and
participate in numerous leadership, service and extracurricular
activities. At UF, between 1985 and 2003, the average SAT score of
admitted students has risen from 1080 to 1270, and the average GPA has
jumped from 3.2 to 4.0. As one UF student recently remarked, "this is
not your father's University of Florida." Your student's senior year is
not the time to lament about "would'ves, could'ves, should'ves" or to
compare their achievements to others. Start early! |
