Research Kristin is a graduate of UF- earning her bachelors degree in
Psychology with minors in Sociology, Religion, and Women's & Gender
Studies in 1998, a Masters in Sociology in 1999, and in May 2003 she
graduated with a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the Department of
Sociology & a graduate certificate from the Center for Women's
Studies and Gender Research. Her research interests center around
youth, civic engagement, community service, gender and the media, and
social change. She is particularly interested in the future goals of
young people, their notions of a "sense of purpose," and how they
define "success." She also studies contemporary families, focusing on
the experiences of Children of LGBTQ Parent(s). Recently she has begun
working with the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at UF's Innovative Social Impact Initiative
on Social Entrepreneurship and is involved in using the skills &
strategies of business to create sustainable solutions to social
problems locally and around the world. |
